PROFILE: COLLEEN HARD
Colleen links experience working in film, television,
music videos, behind the scenes and educational programming together with expertise in communications, policy and sustainable
development. Her film and television experience covers a range of topics including music (Oh My Lord by Chino Maurice
and a Behind the Scenes with Celebrity Chef Todd English) war and women’s empowerment in West Africa (Liberia:
an Uncivil War and Iron Ladies of Liberia), urban youth (SP!T), gang violence and youth incarceration
(Spike TV’s Youth Authority: California featuring Snoop Dogg), spirituality (Secrets of the Code),
culture (Only in America) and the environment (Electroland and the UN Foundation / GCCA funded See You
in Copenhagen international film campaign). She has also facilitated workshops in Monrovia, Liberia in conjunction with
UNDP on election journalism and basic media techniques and conducted media assessments in Liberia and Guinea.
Prior to film, Colleen focused
on non-profit organization based communications / media, sustainable development and capacity building (Conservation International,
UNESCO, Creative Conservation and Rising Leaf Watershed Arts). Her activities benefited communities both domestically and
within developing nations abroad in the fields of conservation, communications, journalism and more. Her activities also refined
her skills in grant writing, fundraising, program planning, monitoring and evaluation for a wide range of audiences.
Adding to her most recent endeavors, Colleen has practical knowledge and experience in large-scale event management (LA
Yoga Expo), sports television (X-Games / A.S.A.) and publishing (Hampton-Brown).
Colleen Hard received her MA in
International Environmental Policy with a Specialization in Communications and BA in International Studies with a language
minor in German from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
